My little adventure...

So, as some of you know, Dave went to Lake Powell for three days with some of his friends. Well, this means that Blake and I were on our own. I actually thought it was going to be so much fun! It was, but there were definitely some bumps along the way. So, day one...everything was going really well. Blake was happy and he took a really good nap in the morning. My mom and sister came down and we went to the pool. Immediately after they left is when the adventure begins. Right. So...they leave to go home and so I decide to unload the dishwasher. I put away one of our pan lids up in the top cabinet. I then shut it without realizing that I need to put some dishes away in that same cabinet. So I open it again and down crashes the pan lid and there is now teeny tiny pieces of shattered glass ALL OVER our kitchen. Of course this is when Blake decides that he wants to be held and starts to scream. So I continue picking up the glass while listening to Blake scream, all the while I am sweating profusely. I love it. So I finish picking up and go to get Blake who now has pooped EVERYWHERE. It is all over him and all over me. Gotta love poop. So I get both of us cleaned up and put Blake to bed. I now think that I am in the clear and the night will get better if we both get some sleep. WRONG! Blake...who has been sleeping through the night since he was eight weeks old decides to get up FOUR times throughout the night. Mommy was not so much the model for patience at this point, but 7:00am rolls around and I decide to just get up and make the best of day two. Nothing too horrible happens on day two. The only thing that was hard was that my little angel decided that he only wanted to sleep for an hour the entire day. That's right ladies and gentlemen, mommy only got one whole hour to herself for the day. So, I take Blake to young womens with me where he was surprisingly really good. I then think this day was OKAY, only to find out that on the two minute stroller ride home Blake decided to poop again and it's now ALL OVER both of us again. I swear, when Blake poops, he REALLY poops. After all of this Blake actually did really well and the rest of the time Dave was gone really wasn't all that bad except for the fact that along this fun journey Blake acquired a sweet cold and runny nose. It's funny how if Dave had been here for all of that happening it wouldn't have seemed like such a big deal. I realized while he was gone how much he does to help me with out little Blake and what an amazing dad and husband he is. We missed him VERY much and decided to make a little banner thing for him for when he got home. I just printed off on the computer and took paint and put it on Blake's feet and make little footprints all over it. It looks a little ghetto, but it was made with love and that's all that matters. Thanks Melinda for helping me out with that. I can only imagine what else would have happened if I would have tried to do that one on my own. (I tried to make hand prints too, but they turned out looking like big blobs and not actual hands)

The rest of the pictures are just some of may absolute favorite ones we have taken of Blake over the past couple of weeks.

Okay so this is SO funny. Blake has had a runny nose the past two days right and he has figured out that he can just lick his upper lip and actually eat his own snot. I think it's pretty funny...a little gross, but really funny. This is the best picture I could get of him doing it. You might need to click on the picture to get it bigger to get the full effect.

And I saved what I think is the all time best picture of my adorable son for last. Ta Da!

This was a really long post and it had a lot of random stuff in it. So thanks to all who actually read all of it.

Oh boy Andrea! I'm sorry you had a bad couple of days. I hate those. And it all seems to happen at the same time.

I love the picture of Blake eating his snot. It's hilarious! And the banner was such a cute and creative idea!

I loved helping make the banner. Blake was so funny. I agree, I don't like being home all by myself with my kids. It gives me a whole new respect for single parents. It is NOT easy!

You're great. That banner reminds me of when you used to make us do that for dad when he came home from his trips. All I cared about is if he had gum for me.

Sorry you had a bad couple of days. Isn't mommyhood terrific!!!! Fortunately, they always do something to make up for it and make you smile (later). I love all the pictures, but especially the bathtub one. You should have called me.

I'm happy for you that Dave is home, and that you survived his absence! :) Having hubbies around makes the BIGGEST difference. Especially on our patience levels. I hate it when Cody's gone... as you know. I probably complain too much. And that picture of Blake in the tub is the cutest thing ever! He is way too darling. I also love the pic where Dave's holding him on the couch and he's looking up at you.

Andrea,
BLAKE IS A DOLL. I mean, seriously..look at those eyes! I love it! I've kind of decided that it's okay for kids to eat boogers. Gotta get their protien somewhere.

I do NOT believe that you gained 60 lbs with Blake. That kills me more than anything...because it looks like you've lost every single one of those pounds. I on the other hand, am still holding 10from Madelyn. That's on TOP of the 15 I gained from birth control. So, if anyone is teaching ANY lessons here, it's you teaching me how to lose 60 lbs in just a few short months.
